CNN —Max Verstappen is racing “on another planet,” according to Red Bull team manager Christian Horner, after the three-time world champion dominated a crash-filled Chinese Grand Prix to record yet another victory. “His form is absolutely fantastic,” Horner told broadcaster Sky Sports. His dominance is such that he finishes every Grand Prix with a comfortable buffer; on Sunday, he crossed the finish line almost 14 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris in second who recorded his 15th career podium. Mark Thompson/Getty ImagesVerstappen had led for almost the entire race, staying clear of the chaos behind him which included a Virtual Safety Car that turned into a full Safety Car prompted by Kick Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas’ engine failure and problems removing his car from the track. Just before the restart, Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll drove into the back of RB’s Daniel Ricciardo prompting another Safety Car and shaking up the race even further.

Edmund So | Getty ImagesThe Chinese Grand Prix could deliver some much-needed drama to Formula 1, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen can't be penciled in as the almost-certain winner on Sunday. It's also the season's first GP with a sprint race, which means Friday's practice session was the only one of the weekend. This is the first F1 race in China in five years, scratched from the calendar by the COVID-19 pandemic. Horner accepted the concern but noted the Shanghai circuit is a known quantity, hosting races since 2004.

CNN —Just four races into the Formula One season, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff believes the title is Max Verstappen’s to lose after another dominant win for the Red Bull driver. At the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, three-time world champion Verstappen finished 13 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Pérez, who was eight seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in third. Last month, Sainz won the Australian Grand Prix when Verstappen was forced to retire from the race. CNN —Carlos Sainz claimed an impressive victory at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, breaking Max Verstappen’s dominant grip over this F1 season as the Red Bull driver was forced to retire from the race. The Spaniard began the race second on the grid, behind pole-sitter Verstappen, and stuck close to the three-time world champion before easily overtaking him on the second lap to take the lead. For just the first time in two years, he retired from a Grand Prix, citing brake failure. Of course you always want to finish the races but it’s a mechanical sport,” Verstappen said following his first retirement since the 2022 Australian Grand Prix. Red Bull launched an independent investigation in February after Horner was accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior towards a member of the racing team, who has not been identified. Red Bull will hope to defend their titles in 2024, when there will be a record 24 races, with an even better car. "This car is going to go down in the history books as a very, very special car," Horner said of the RB19. Sergio Perez was eclipsed by his team mate, with plenty of speculation about his Red Bull future earlier in the year, yet still finished overall runner-up. "There is a Mount Everest to climb in order to catch up with Red Bull," Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff told reporters on Sunday. Despite their dominance, Red Bull took 'only' 14 poles from 22 races.

CNN —And so the curtain falls on a Formula One season dominated by Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team, with the Dutchman securing a record-extending 19th victory of the year at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Never before has the sport seen a driver win with such regularity and ease, the three-time world champion again comfortably crossing the finishing line first at the season-ending race at the Yas Marina Circuit. Verstappen led from start to finish to secure his fourth win on the trot in Abu Dhabi. “It was an incredible season,” Verstappen told reporters. At one point, it seemed probable rather than possible that the team would win every race of the season, an outcome that faded away when Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Grand Prix.

Unlike in many of the season’s previous races, however, Verstappen did not cruise to victory. Starting second on the grid, it wasn’t until lap 37 that the Dutchman passed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to take the race lead. Verstappen said afterwards that the race was “definitely a lot of fun.”“It was a tough one. I tried to go for it at the start,” he told reporters of his attempt to pass Leclerc at Turn 1. Perez, however, did secure second place in the drivers’ championship to ensure Red Bull will end the season with a one-two in the drivers’ championship for the first time.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Ferrari rebounded from a disastrous first day of the Las Vegas Grand Prix with a Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. sweep of Friday night qualifying. After the qualifying run, Sainz was struggling to balance the showmanship of F1's first visit to Las Vegas in 41 years and the damage to the sporting element of the biggest spectacle on the series' 22-race calendar. F1 and owner Liberty Media have spent $500 million on the race that uses the Strip and incorporates several Las Vegas landmarks. “But I see the race as a very good opportunity for F1 and I think F1, it's a good thing that's in Las Vegas and I am enjoying coming to Las Vegas. CNN —As Las Vegas gears up to stage its first Formula One Grand Prix in more than 40 years, three-time world champion Max Verstappen appears unenthused by the prospect of racing in the glitzy host city. But Red Bull driver Verstappen, who wrapped up his most recent world title last month, isn’t particularly enamored by the theater atmosphere on display in Las Vegas. Red Bull Racing's dominance in Formula 1 this year is translating directly to higher sales of its namesake energy drink, the team's principal and CEO, Christian Horner, told CNBC. The Red Bull team, which also counts tech giant Oracle as a title sponsor, has trounced the grid this season, winning 19 of the 20 Grand Prix weekends so far. The Red Bull team secured the constructors championship the weekend prior, in Japan. Red Bull declined to share specific sales metrics, but a company spokesperson reiterated the F1 "uplift" and said it's particularly noticeable in corresponding race markets. REUTERS/Leonhard Foeger/ File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Ross Brawn is tipping a resurgent McLaren to take the fight to dominant Red Bull and triple world champion Max Verstappen next season. So, I think with that improvement going into next season they can be a real threat. Brawn was also optimistic Ferrari would improve under Fred Vasseur's guidance but recognised Red Bull would not be standing still and had the added benefit of being able to switch attention early to next year's car. Red Bull have so far won 19 of 20 races, with Verstappen triumphant 17 times -- a record for a single season that he can extend in Las Vegas this weekend -- and team mate Sergio Perez twice. U.S. GP results stand after F1 stewards reject Haas appeal

Stewards ruled, in a lengthy statement, that Haas had presented no significant and relevant new element that was unavailable to them at the time of the Oct. 22 race in Austin, Texas. The decision was reached after a virtual hearing that started on Wednesday and was deferred to Thursday. Haas, last in the championship, sought the review during last weekend's Sao Paulo Grand Prix because they believed some rivals exceeded track limits without sanction. The U.S.-owned team argued that the track limit infringements were "neither noted, nor investigated nor penalized by the stewards as reflected in the final classification." The stewards found the onboard camera footage of Albon's Williams and following cars was significant but not new, previously unavailable or relevant.

The hard-won compromise keeps the existing market mechanism, which its supporters claim is more efficient than other models in a liberalised electricity market. SAO PAULO, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Carlos Sainz was fastest in a Ferrari one-two with Charles Leclerc in Friday's sole practice session for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with other top teams keeping a lid on their true potential. Sainz lapped with a best time of one minute 11.732 seconds, with Leclerc -- polesitter for the past two races -- 0.108 slower and both after late runs on the fastest soft tyres on a windy afternoon.
